WS3 Co-Leads: Steve Montgomery-Laird, Ben Parcell, Laura Richards

Summary

The ‘Case Study Selection Guidance‘ provides a series of steps for case study selection, as part of IMPACT AMR’s Workstream 3 (WS3 – Evidence mapping and proposal development). The document will be dynamic, open for new ideas, strategies, and approaches as the IMPACT AMR Network evolves.

The guidance covers the following topics:

[1] What is an IMPACT AMR case study?

[2] What is the framework / process for selecting and proposing a case study.

[3] What would be involved in case study development?

[4] What are some examples of case studies that could be developed?

[5] What resources are available for case study development?

[6] How do case studies related to other UKRI AMR Transdisciplinary Networks groups?

If you would like to propose a case study, please apply on a proforma via the link below. This proforma is intended to collect some basic information, such as:

• What is the topic of your proposed case study?

• What One Health sector is you case study most closely aligned with?

• Why do you think your case is important?

• What, if any, evidence, in general, is available for your case (e.g. existing meta-analysis, others)?

• Do you have a mechanism to progress working up your case on the timescale of IMPACT AMR, for example an existing team working on the case, and/or an aligned project/network?

• Please provide your contact information (Title, Name, Job descriptor, Affiliation, Email)

The proforma will be reviewed initially by our IMPACT AMR Network Manager and if the idea is broadly in alignment with the WS3 scope/remit then a virtual meeting could be arranged with the proposer, one of the WS3 co-leads and our Network Manager to discuss further. Please note ideas on the proforma do not need to be final; we welcome preliminary ideas for discussion and development. Our team is creating a log/list of potential case studies that are communicated to us. Summary content submitted on the proforma may be seen by network members or more broadly so please ensure that the information shared is not confidential or restricted.

Please do get in touch if there are further questions (email: impact-amr@lshtm.ac.uk).
