The IMPACT AMR Network held its launch meeting on the 29th of November 2024.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the 192 participants who joined for the IMPACT AMR Network Launch meeting. Your active engagement, collaboration, and commitment have left us excited and motivated for our next steps together. We look forward to working with you in our new community, together with those who were unable to join. In this first newsletter, we share some updates from the event. You can also access the slide deck here.

During the online meeting, the attendees participated in a series of activities that allowed us to get to know our community a bit better. We used Teams polls and whiteboards to engage with our participants.
Getting to know our community
The results of the Teams polls showed that those interested in being part of our community represent a wide range of sectors: academia (64%), government (18%), Health care (11%), civil societies (4%), agriculture (2%), and industry (1%).
Our disciplines are diverse, including microbiology, genomics, epidemiology, health economics, mathematical modelling, global health, international law and human rights, social sciences, implementation science and policy.
The majority of attendees were experienced academics and professionals (69%), with eight years or more of experience. We also had significant representation of early career researchers and professionals, postdoctoral fellows, and PhD students, making up 31% of our community.
What’s next for the IMPACT AMR Network?
We are currently working on the development our identity as a network and the communication strategy. We plan to include the following:
Workstreams activities: the co-leads of the WSs are developing the plans to keep engaging with our members. If you would like to show your interest in joining the WSs, please follow this link.
